Typhoon Hagupit (Ruby) got all our attention this week. See how Humanity Road’s volunteers are responding to the event.
Typhoon Hagupit (Ruby) in The Philippines
- Hagupit (international name), Ruby (Philippines name) has been classified as a super typhoon and is expected to make landfall early Sunday morning. 47 of the country’s 81 provinces are identified as “high risk” from Hagupit.
- Humanity Road activated its response on December 4th in advance of landfall. Our volunteers are amplifying official messaging, preparing situation reports, monitoring for urgent needs, and identifying aid agencies responding.

- Pets #Unselfie Award Contest — The #unselfie photo contest ended on December 2nd, which was #GivingTuesday. The winner of the contest is Annie, HR volunteer Alice McGowen’s service dog.
- News from the DAFN Team — DAFN Team has been supporting National Aids Day and Month and the International Day for the Disabled. The team also supported Humanity Road during their fundraising event, by helping to spread the word of the contest and had an entry in the contest.
