Short Number Services in the USA
Catherine Graham - Sunday, July 22, 2012
Inside the USA, there are more services available to the public during and after disaster than 911. Prior to FCC designation these support areas were under many different numbers within each local area. In a ruling in 1997, the FCC set aside the 311 number for non-emergency governmental services. Below is the list of all N11 numbers. Their use and service may vary slightly from state to state, as they are operated and funded independently within each state.
