LDR informs us that the Red Cross is currently recruiting volunteers for Hurricane Sandy response. Spanish speaking translators/interpreters are needed for shelters in both Philadelphia and Chester Counties (Downingtown and West Grove). Also, general volunteers are also being specifically recruited for Avon Grove HS Red Cross shelter. The folks on the Voice Over IP Weather Net are using social media to give important information.

In addition to radio, http://www.voipwx.net is the group's web site, http://www.twitter.com/voipwxnet and http://www.facebook.com/voipwxnet are their Twitter and Facebook efforts.

This group also has a Radio Reference feed http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?feedId=9559 that is active now with the New England area.
